Heading to the ‘great white north’ soon!
I will be heading to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for the annual meeting of the Association of Earth Science Editors, 6 to 9 September 2017. But I will first take a detour and drive all the way to Inuvik (above the Arctic Circle), then hop on a plane for a half-hour flight to Tuktoyaktuk, on the shore of the Arctic Ocean.
I will be making blog entries as connectivity allows. There is virtually NO cell service, and Internet connectivity is limited to towns and cities, of which there are few ‘up north’ of Whitehorse in the Yukon.
I have an introductory PowerPoint available from my Field Trips page. It will be interesting (to me) to see how closely I keep to my original planned itinerary. You can see the HTML version of the PPT at http://field-trips.geology-guy.com/nwt2017/ or the full-sized PDF at http://field-trips.geology-guy.com/nwt2017/nwt-trip-ppt.pdf – a smaller PDF with 6 slides to a page, is at http://field-trips.geology-guy.com/nwt2017/nwt-trip-ppt-handouts.pdf.
More to come…
